01 Honda Civic - Timing belt change $$ ?? @ 129 K miles?

Whats the going rate for changing a timing belt/water pump? I have an 2001 Civic with 129K miles. Should I have anything else replaced?01 Honda Civic - Timing belt change $$ ?? @ 129 K miles?Shadetree = $100

Shop = $300 - $70001 Honda Civic - Timing belt change $$ ?? @ 129 K miles? It all depends on where you take it to get it done, parts are going to run you around $75.00 between the belt and the water pump, I personally recommend that you get a timing kit that includes the pullys, the kit runs around $125.00, it normally calls for about 4 hours of labor time to replace, where I work, we charge $90.00 an hour, but I am sure you can find a place that charges less than that, just make sure they guaranty their work, you're probably looking at about $450.00 for that job.

Good luck01 Honda Civic - Timing belt change $$ ?? @ 129 K miles?i work in the service department at a honda dealership in sacramento, ca. for a timing belt/drive belt/water pump package it runs $729.95. we've had to price around and compare ours to other dealerships though, and the price varies. call up the nearest few dealerships...its your best bet. have you had your spark pluggs replaced? those are recommended at 105k...dont know if you already did that.01 Honda Civic - Timing belt change $$ ?? @ 129 K miles?timing chain and water pump on an 04 civic typically run 450-650. whatever you do, obviously don't go to a dealership as they will rip you off on the kit and labor. if you are mechanically inclined and have the tools and time, a kit can be purchased for about 150 and you can do it yourself. honda calls for replacement of timing chain and water pump as part of preventative maintenance at 110k and spark plugs at 105k. 129k on an 04 is a lot. most people average 12k-15k tops per year. since you drive so often you should probably also have your oil changed every 3000 instead of 5000 which is suggested by honda now.
